Clew First Cheese
Roll named the "Slayer"
19/06/06
This months Boards Magazine announced the result of the
competition to come up with a snappy name for the Clew First Cheese Roll.
The April issue of BOARDS featured a picture of yours truely doing a Clew First
Cheese Roll and normal cheese roll. They figured it was the first time teh move
had appeared in print so they ran acompetition to find a snappier name for the
move.
I got to sift through the suggestions that I recieved by email (thanks to everyone
who emailed me) and was proud to announce that the winning entry was from Will
Rippon. In fact the first email I recieved was from my mate John Hibbard with
the "Slayer" suggestion, its actually a nick name that was given to
me by one of the Aussie wave rippers Luke Walmsley and Ty Bodycoat on a trip
to Western Australia years ago, but only they called me it. Then I shared an
apartment in Pozo with Luke, Ty, John, Andy King and Matt Pearch for the 2003
wave event and it kind of stuck from then on. But John can't win. So I was stoked
to get the suggestion from Will Rippon using the logic of Sleigh-Air, Slay-Air,
Sleigher or "Slayer". Check the Press pages fro the jfull article.
